Broadcast Journalism
I was the student play-by-play broadcaster for the KMC Journalism production on YouTube my junior and senior years. I got my start as a color commentator my sophomore year.
I began as a girls basketball color commentator and rose to the role of play-by-play announcer for football, and both girls and boys basketball. This video is sample of my broadcasting highlights from my senior year.
To prepare for play-by-play broadcast duties, I interviewed coaches prior to each matchup. The following interview with head football coach Weston Schartz was presented prior to the game broadcast. It was an opportunity for me to practice both my interview skills and my on-camera presentation in my junior year.
