Design
It all begins with an idea. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story can make the difference. In addition to writing content for our student-run Paladin magazine, I designed the layout which would carry my copy. I increased my design acumen and page layout portfolio with new ideas from the Jayhawk Media Workshop hosted by the Journalism School at the University of Kansas.
I created my Paladin magazine page layouts from scratch. This included shooting photos of objects. While this was not the most efficient use of time, considering I could source a stock image, it did provide more experience about what is needed to make a design complete. A bonus was getting the exact artwork I needed.
